Overview

Founded in 1917, Shanghai University of Finance and Economics is a multi-dimensional university which focuses on applied economics and management with theoretical economics as its basis, and its subjects include science, law, philosophy and humanities as well. SUFE has been selected as one of the 21st Century’s 100 key universities in China. SUFE is located in the beautiful city Shanghai in the east of China. The University is one of the few universities in China with post-doctoral research centers in the fields of Economics and Management. It is also among those universities in China which first offered MBA and EMBA programs. Presently, SUFE has 19 education units, including College of Business, School of Accounting, School of Finance, School of International Business Administration, School of Economics, School of Public Economics and Administration, School of Humanities, School of Law, School of Information Management and Engineering, School of Statistics and Management, International Cultural Exchange School. There are 6 first level doctoral programs, 12 first level master programs and 36 undergraduate programs. SUFE has 1023 high-level faculty. There are totally more than 20,000 registered students, of which more than 6400 are graduate students towards master or Ph. D degrees.
International Cultural Exchange School (ICES) of SUFE is devoted to the education of foreign students and enrolls students who have won Chinese Government Scholarship or Native Government Scholarship and students studying at their own expenses. Chinese language training course has Business character. Welcome international students to study at SUFE!

Admission

1. Chinese Language Program
Requirements
Foreigner; 18 to 60 years old; be in good physical health

2. Undergraduate Program (Chinese-given)
Requirements
International applicants must be between the ages of 18 and 45, be a university graduate with a master’s degree, possess a HSK grade 5 certificate (the new exam) or BCT level 3 certificate, and be in good physical health (in order to pass the student visa health check).

3.  Master Programs
3.1 Chinese-given Master Program
Requirements
International applicants must be between the ages of 18 and 45, be a university graduate with a bachelor’s degree, possess an HSK grade 5 certificate (the new exam), and be in good physical health (in order to pass the student visa health check).
* Applicants from the Mainland of China, Hong Kong, Macao or Taiwan who are applying to study at the Shanghai University of Finance and Economics as international students should satisfy the additional requirements of the National Ministry of Education.

3.2 English-given Master Program in International Business
Requirements
International applicants must be between the ages of 18 and 45 with a bachelor’s degree and in good health. Non English native speakers should pass IELTS test (above 6.5 points).
* Applicants from the Mainland of China, Hong Kong, Macao or Taiwan who are applying to study at the Shanghai University of Finance and Economics as international students should meet the additional requirements of the National Ministry of Education.

3.3 English-given LL.M. Program (Master of Laws)
Requirements
International applicants must be between the ages of 18 and 45 with a bachelor’s degree and in good health. Non English native speakers should pass IELTS test (above 6.5 points).
