Overview


Yantai University is member of "Project of Prestigious Universities  in Shandong Province”, which focuses on the construction of provincial universities.In its initial development, Yantai University was aided by the Ministry of Education, Peking University, and Tsinghua University.

Located on the shore of the Yellow Sea, less than one hundred meters from the coastline, Yantai University is truly a seaside University.With more than 30,000 students, Yantai University offers degrees in 10 disciplines: culture, science, engineering, law, agriculture, medicine, economics, management, education, and art, making it a comprehensive University.


Yantai University was founded in 1984.In 1998, Yantai University was approved to confer a Master's degree.In 2004, it was awarded the Excellence Prize in National Undergraduate Teaching Assessment by Ministry of Education.In 2011, it was successfully selected by the Ministry of Education for a distinguished engineer education program.In 2012, it was it was selected as one of the most superior universities for training students in law.Also in 2012, Yantai University was approved to confer a Doctorate degree.

The students of The International Exchange School organize LBF association spontaneously to offer bilingual instruction free of charge to all overseas students.
There will be a Chinese Competition for overseas students on May 29th. 
The International Exchange School will grant the Excellent Overseas Students Award.

Admission

1.Undergraduate Tuition 

· Liberal Arts: RMB 12,400/year

· Science & Engineering: RMB 13,400/year

· School of Architecture and School of Art: RMB 16,000/year

Application fee

Undergraduate & Chinese Language Traning : 300RMB

Undergraduate Student Eligibility

High school graduates or present college students.

New HSK Level-4 with 180 points or above for applicants of non-Chinese majors.

ApplicationThe applicants can apply by email, or come the university personally or by another representative.

Copy of passport

Application form (fixed samples)

Scanning copy of high school diploma and transcripts, or a certificate from the University you are currently studying at

HSK certificate (if you have one)

Note:

· If you have work history, proof of work experience related to present employment with unit stamps from the previous unit you served should be provided.

· If there are children under 18 years old or your spouse accompanying you, the birth certificate  or marriage certificate notarized by the Chinese embassies or consulates should also be provided.

Application Deadline

Autumn semester: July 30th

Spring semester: Jan. 30th

Application Processing and Applying for a Student Visa

· First, the University will examine your application materials.

· If accepted, the University will send you a “Letter of Acceptance” and “Visa Application For Study in China” (JW202).

· The applicant student need to go to the nearest Chinese embassy or consulate to apply for a student entry visa with the “Letter of Acceptance” and “Visa Application For Study in China” (JW202) .

· Students should register on time, according to the time noted on their “Letter of Acceptance”.

 

 

2.Postgraduate Tuition

· Liberal Arts: RMB 21,000/year

· Science & Engineering: RMB 25,000/year

Postgraduate: 400RMB

Tuition Fees & Scholarships

  • Chinese Government Scholarship (CSC)

     

    Our school is one of the universities to take the training task of Chinese Government Scholarship entrusted by the Department of International Cooperation and Exchanges of the Ministry of Education. The information about studying in China through the National Scholarship Management Committee could be found on the website :http://www.csc.edu.cn/Laihua/

  • Shandong Provincial Government Scholarship for International Students(SPGS)

     

    In order to encourage foreign students to study in Shandong, the provincial government set up the Shandong Provincial Government Scholarship for International Students. Yantai University is one of the first universities where the scholarship could be awarded. 

    Shandong Provincial Government Scholarship for International Students includes full scholarship and scholarship for outstanding students. Full scholarship is provided for the newly enrolled students, including degree students and long-term language students. Scholarship for outstanding students is provided for foreign students who have been studying in China and have outstanding performance.

Other Features

Competitions in writing, singing, and other such activities work to improve student's Chinese proficiency are held regularly.
International student group outings help to promot friendship among students  and to overcome difficulties while studying.
International students can join in school clubs, which create opportunities to make friends with Chinese students.
