Revisit China

The graduates who studied in China are one of the groups who know best of China in various countries and regions. They have studied and lived in China with a deep love with the nation. As a result, they have acted as an important bridge between China and other countries through people-to-people exchanges.
Sponsored by theChinese Embassy in Japan and jointly organized by the CSCSE and Waseda University, the Japanese delegations, whose members are people who had studied in China in the past, have visited China for many times. During their visit, the group visited well-known enterprises, tasted Chinese cuisine, visited their alma maters, experienced the rapid development of China. Such visits help them better understand the present China and bring back the fresh impression to their current work and life.
Previous visits of foreign students to China
The first delegation’s visits to Beijing and Shanghai
From October 30 to November 5, 2016, the first delegation of 50 people visited China. Led by Mr Koguchi Hikota, Pesident of Edokawa University (a former Vice-President of Waseda University) and Mr Jiang Zhengyin, head of East Asia Affairs Department of Waseda University, the delegation visited departments of Chinese central government, universities in Beijing and Shanghai, Japanese Embassy in China, Chinese and Japanese enterprises and the Shanghai Pilot Free Trade Zone.
During their visit, Yang Yu from the Department of Asian Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Fang Jun from the International Department of the Ministry of Education briefed the delegation the current Sino-Japanese relations, the Sino-Japanese educational exchanges and the basic information of Japanese students who are studying in China. The delegation toured Peking University and Fudan University in Beijing and Shanghai. They also visited Yuanpei College, Yenching Academy and Asian youth apartments. Talks were held with students and teachers from Peking University and Fudan University. The teachers and students of from the Department of Japanese Language from the two universities gave a warm welcome and a wonderful performance to the delegatio.
The delegation also visited Huawei Technology’s Beijing institute to experience Huawei"s corporate culture and Yakult Honsha investment company in Shanghai to learn about the development of Japanese companies in China.
The second delegation’s visits to Shanghai and Hangzhou
The second delegation of 100 people paid a visit to China on November 22-26, 2017. The head of the delegation is 岩佐敬昭from Okinawa Institute of Science and Technology and the deputy head of delegation is Mr. Jiang Zhengyin from the East Asia Affairs Department of Waseda University. The itinerary of the delegation includes visits to Hangzhou International Expo Center, which is the main venue of the G20 Summit, Alibaba, Commercial Aircraft Corp of China and Fudan University. They also participated workshops on innovative entrepreneurship policies and related work for foreign students.
During their visit to Fudan University, leaders from the university briefed the delegation of the latest developments in the internationalization of Chinese education sector, the study and life of foreign students in China and various academic programs carried out by Chinese institutions for international students, including short-term programs combining course learning and internship opportunities.
In Hangzhou and Shanghai, the delegation visited Alibaba and Commercial Aircraft Corp China respectively. Alibaba"s big data real-time display and analysis impressed the delegation, who have gained a deeper understanding of the rapid development of Chinese enterprises. The introduction of the staff from the Commercial Aircraft Corp China not only displays the advanced technology and scientific management of contemporary Chinese enterprises, but also shows the spirit of enterprise.
During the same period, the exchange activities between the delegation in Shanghai and the representatives of Chinese and Japanese enterprises enabled delegation members to better understand the development and innovation of Chinese enterprises. At the same time, the delegation showed strong interests in the China’s policies of employment, internship and entrepreneurship introduced by CSCSE.
The third delegation’s visits to Guangzhou and Shenzhen
The third delegation of 98 people paid a visit to China on August 20-25, 2019. The head of the delegation is Mr.近藤昭一, a member from Lower House of Parliament, and the deputy head of delegation is Mr. Jiang Zhengyin from the East Asia Affairs Department of Waseda University. The delegation visited DJI, Tencent Technology, Huawei Technologies and Sun Yat-sen University. Mr. Ren Zhengfei, founder and president of Huawei, met with the delegation and exchanged views with the members.
During their visit to Shenzhen, the delegation visited the DJI’s showroom, Tencent’s headquarters and Huawei. DJI company introduced to the delegation its development history and DJI drones in rescue mapping, agricultural services, film and television entertainment and other fields. At Tencent, the company officials briefed the delegation on its applications in social, leisure and entertainment, payments, public health and other fields. At Huawei, the delegation visited the headquarters’ exhibition halls. They also visited the research and development base at the Huawei Base in Songshan Lake, Dongguan. During their visit, Huawei founder Ren Zhengfei met with the delegation and answered questions from members of the delegation and explained Huawei"s corporate social responsibility and corporate values. The delegation was impressed by the scientific research strength and independent innovation ability of Chinese technology enterprises. The big data integration and technological innovation have profoundly changed the communication styles and living habits of hundreds of millions of Chinese internet users.
During their tour to Guangzhou, the delegation visited the National Supercomputing Guangzhou Center of Zhongshan University and the "Tianhe 2" supercomputer host room up close and listened to the introduction of the Chinese supercomputer development. After that, the delegation heard a lecture by a professor from Sun Yat-sen University entitled "Dr. Sun Yat-sen, Sun Yat-sen University and Japan" and a special lecture on the Great Bay Area of Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao.
